Nissan services

Hi all. I'm hoping for some advice as it's the first time I've had dealings with a new car. I bought a new Nissan car last year and it is now due it's first service. The services at Nissan costs £200 however which seems really steep. When I got the car they recommend I got it serviced there in order to ensure my warranty but didn't say I couldn't go else where. I looked at halfords and they do it for £150 and advertise they keep your car in warranty but it still seems steep. What does everyone else do?

Thanks

If serviced in line with the manufacturer’s standards using genuine parts then it’s true that it won’t affect your warranty. This can be false economy however as you’ll kiss goodbye to any goodwill outside of warranty if you keep it that long. You’ll also affect resale value by servicing outside of the dealer network.

Thanks for the reply! So it sounds like I'm best just sucking up the £200 cost then.

For the sake of £50 I think so, for a saving of £500 it might be worth considering.
