I have a big Bebecar Stylo but need something smaller to keep in the car.

This is my 4th baby and I have a Vauxhall Zafira. Ideally it will fit in the boot (!) with all the seats up.

Maclaren Techno or M&P Pliko Pramette?

i'd go for the maclaren - folds up really small and can still get shopping in the boot!

SparklyGothKat · 02/05/2007 13:04

I am having my 4th baby too, and have a zafira. I went for the m&p pliko p3 pramette

ceolas · 02/05/2007 13:05

I tried the pramette in my boot today. It just fits with all the seats up.

It seems 'cosier' for a newborn though

this

SparklyGothKat · 02/05/2007 13:27

I have to have the lasts seat down though, as DS has a wheelchair I hope it will fit in with the wheelchair

slimmerjim · 02/05/2007 13:29

For my 4th I used an old style Silver Cross Wayfarer combo, and bought a Techno when he was about 4 months. I think the Pramette looks cosy and can face you, but ds3 was always perfectly cosy (and FLAT !) in the Techno. It's lighter than the Pramette and although I kept it for 2+ years it cleaned up well and I recently sold it on eBay to a very satisfied customer for around £100.

umma · 02/05/2007 20:27

I can reccomend the M&P's prammete. I have one and i think they are brill!

ceolas · 02/05/2007 20:29

It looked as though it would be a bit difficult to get much in the shopping basket of the pramette. Is it?

OP posts:
CarGirl · 02/05/2007 20:31

You can get a fair bit in the basket but you can hang loads on the handles! There isn't much out there with a large basket unless you go down the graco route

MrsBadger · 02/05/2007 20:31

Ceolas have you not sorted this yet
Get a Techno. It only matters for 6mo anyway then you'll wish you'd got a Triumph.

(deep envy of the Stylo btw, veeery nice)

trippleshot · 02/05/2007 20:31

The maxi-cosi car seat/buggaboo wheels combo works really well.

MrsBadger · 02/05/2007 20:32

?? trippleshot

it doesn't lie flat and she hasn't got a Bugaboo...

ceolas · 02/05/2007 20:46

I know, Mrs B

I don't know if I can cope with lugging the Stylo in and out of the car for 6 months, otherwise I'd get a Triumph for sure.

OP posts:
CarGirl · 02/05/2007 20:47

get the techno or ryder and sell it after 6 months or swap for a triumph!

ceolas · 05/05/2007 12:58

There's a lovely pramette on ebay ending tonight. Smoke/pet free home. Have checked this time!

Misdee, you're a bad influence on me

techno xt here (well, in car)

canm't be faulted

Tutter · 05/05/2007 13:22

ps have had pramette and techno xt

mclaren folds much smaller

Naboo · 06/05/2007 22:47

I've got a pramette and a techno XT. Both are excellent.
Pramette - only used mine for first 6 months, it's got a big basket, brilliant change from new born to toddler, looks really sleek (mine was a city scape), cup holder and the bar at the front swings open, so you don't have to lift the tot over all the time.
XT - use it daily, it's really narrow but roomy for tot, taller than average handles, extendable hood - which is brill for sun glare and a sleeping tot, shame the shopping basket is so tiny. Both are light and manoeverable. XT folds a bit smaller, but it's taller, so you have to be careful about it fitting in a small boot.

I have to say goodbye to the pramette though, as i need a double now. Ebay, here i come...

ceolas · 06/05/2007 22:51

Well the pramette just fitted in terms of length.

From what I can see online Pramette is 103cm and Techno 110cm. It might not fit.

It would have to be a Quest or Triumph, but these aren't suitable from birth.
