pedal bin style nappy bucket

Mine just broke and mothercare don't seem to do them anymore from what I could gather from the not very helpful assistant I asked - kept asking if I was sure it wasn't a wrapper system I was on about [hmmm]. Does anyone know where I can find one/something similar as is so much easier than lifting a lid off a bucket style one - both hands free to deal with wriggly toddler! Here's a pic if that's any help - nappy bin - Thanks!

Is it for cloth or disposables you need?
You could use a brabantia bin for disposables or this one from Jo Jo
www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/detailfash.php?type=FASH&code=A5527&branch=&category=
which uses one bag not a cassette type thing...
For cloth I hae only seen bucket type bins.

I just use a stainless steel pedal bin I got from Asda for 6 quid. (for cloth that is)

I have one of those twiga and love it - I just use ordinary pedal bins elsewhere though for my cloth and my cotton wool etc.

It's for cloth. I love mine too - might have to try super glue again (didn't hold last time i tried) - really don't want a bucket type .

If I see another one at a car boot I shall get it for you! Which bit has broken on yours? Mine is now in the bathroom as it's a good slim shape!

MrsBadger · 01/05/2007 21:23

we have one of these as a kitchen bin - spring-loaded push top not pedal but has a plastic bucket inner. Any good?

Pannacotta · 01/05/2007 21:33

Twiga the Brabantia pedal bins all have plastic liners so you could use one of these with a napopy mesh inside? I never thought to do this for our cloth nappies but no reason why not. They seal well too, so no nasty niffs!!

Twiga · 01/05/2007 21:34

Thanks Cargirl, it's the bit that holds the pedal onto the bottom of the bin - two plastic pin bits either side, think the whole pedal mech would pivet off them if they weren't broken IYSWIM?!

Alternatives are worth keeping in mind but they all look a bit pricey - think I paid about £10 for my lovely bin .

The Brabantia 12L are only about £13-14

CarGirl · 01/05/2007 21:39

think I paid 50p

Bumping again just in case anyone can source one! Super glue and no more nails not working on a repair front so far - next trick to drill and put in some wooden dowling - please let it work!
