I will be watching this one as I need a blackout blind for dd1's room. I have wooden blinds from argos

oh,how are they? had ikea ones in the past and didn't last the year. Want good price and good quality, am Iasking too much?!

They are ok, they aren't thick slates, but They look good, It cost me £45 for the 6ft ones, can't remember the cost of the 4ft and 2ft ones though.

its these ones

JL blackout and venetian

Argos blackouts and venetians

SparklyGothKat · 01/05/2007 11:35

I love the spotty blackouts from argos.

RanToTheHills · 01/05/2007 12:35

you're all great! make moving house so easy!

I have been browsing the JL ones and hope they'll fit our windows. We've had blackouts before (not from JL) and they always ended up gapping or having to be cut down still to fit in the window(wonky Victorian sashes for you, maybe).

just checked and none of them fit our windows exactly which means cutting them down to size. We've done that before and found they tended to gape/look crap. Admittedly these weren't JL so maybe they're better quality? Anyone cut theirs?

we cut a non-blackout Argos one for the bathroom and it looked fine - measure carefully with it flat on the floor, draw a guide line and cut with really sharp kitchen scissors.

made-to-measure ones here

RanToTheHills · 03/05/2007 10:48

thanks, MrsB. Have you used that made to measure company, then? Were they good quality?

not used them but they were the most reasonable prices when I googled
maye ask for a fabric sample?

RanToTheHills · 03/05/2007 19:00
