Exercise bikes, are they any good?

...and if so, can anyone recommend a good one? (The one I had as a teenager was not much more than an ironing board with a seat.)

I empathise deeply with you, Bran. But I'm fat and short of time - thought I might be able to watch my Randall and Hopkirk (deceased) DVDs while doing some exercise. Perhaps I should dig out the old skipping rope as you suggest. I relish the thought ...

I think all exercise bikes are more or less the same. The main prob is remembering to use them! I have one and I used it yesterday morning but before that I think I had not used it for a year!
