Volvo Assistance

Does anyone have an opinion on Volvo Assistance? I've been given it free with my recent service/MOT, but it would be good to get an idea of what their service is like before I ditch the RAC.

I had Volvo Assistance on my Volvo (s) but they were so reliable I never needed to use it, so can't tell you how helpful the package is.

I have used it - I broke down in warranty. Fine, same as the others, we rely on it at home, in Europe - just the same.

Always had it with our services but have never needed to use it. Its covers Europe as well, good for when we go camping in France.

We've recently bought our 12th Volvo.

Lol at the fact that Volvos are so reliable that nobody's really had to use the service...

Our volvo is 20 years old and has 150k on the clock, so all bets are off wrt breakdown. I'd like to tell the RAC to sling their hook cos they overcharge me and have been quite inefficient wrt paperwork and quotes, but I don't want to be stuck somewhere waiting for hours for Volvo assistance to come out.

Maybe I should phone them and ask what their average callout time is?

They just contract someone OP, green flag from memory.

I broke down at 9pm on the last day of my three year warranty. They were out within an hour. Rural Norfolk.

Do bear in mind that if you take it somewhere else for a service/work. I.e not a Volvo garage the cover ceases.

Terrible, left me with 2 kids for 5.5 hours after telling me they would be 90mins. I had to call them 3 times and was on hold for 35mins and 45mins. No contact from them at all. Then eventually recovered home but exactly the same when trying to get car then taken to garage.
