Advice on kids' headphones

I wondered if anyone could recommend any kids' headphones that would be suitable for wearing when in a car seat? We've finally managed to sort out some clever gadgets to hold kindles on the back of our headrests ahead of a driving holiday, but when we tried them out at the weekend we realised the headphones we have for the kids "stick out" quite a bit (they're over-the-head ones) and they couldn't sit with their heads back in their car seats properly!

Are in-ear headphones ok for children? Do they stay in their little ears? Or does anyone know of any "flatter" over-the-head ones? Kids are age 6 and 8 but still in high-back boosters which we're keen to keep them in for as long as possible.

Thank you!
