it's the one with the face- so not surprisingly
my ds who's 2 thinks it is a toy and has just got the wire all tangled up inside the lid... any idea how to untangle it?

Anteater · 28/07/2004 16:35

do you mean the fle that winds up?

Anteater · 28/07/2004 16:37

Mean flex

unicorn · 28/07/2004 16:47

Yes the flex that you pull out from the lid and plug in.... somehow or other it has got tangled up and I can only pull it a tiny distance...

moniker · 28/07/2004 17:03

mine did this! although I do still love him and it was also my DS who did it! I managed to coax the flex out by very slowly moving the handle/winder thing forwards and back just a bit and pulling on the flex - sort of teasing it out I suppose!. it took ages but did work in the end and have had no problems since!! hope that helps! good luck

unicorn · 28/07/2004 17:05

thanks moniker- will try 'teasing"! instead of yanking

OP posts:
lemonice · 28/07/2004 17:10

Could also try turning it upside down and teasing

moniker · 28/07/2004 17:10

yes - you must NEVER yank a Henry's flex - no good will come of it!!

unicorn · 28/07/2004 17:13

thanks lemonice wil try that one.. Teasing Henry!!

Moniker-you and Henry obviously have a very- ahem intimate relationship!!

OP posts:
anorak · 28/07/2004 17:27

Don't you just love your Henry? I love the way mine follows me round the room looking at me

spacemonkey · 28/07/2004 17:29

I'm awaiting delivery of my Henry. Don't know if he's going to be green or blue though - I left the choice up to the suppliers. I like to live on the edge. Will be careful not to yank him too much in light of this thread

Davros · 28/07/2004 22:30

Got my Henry second hand for £20 and threw the Dyson in the bin. Henry Rules!

marthamoo · 28/07/2004 22:31

You are all scarily sad people

unicorn · 29/07/2004 00:56

It's the Henry fan club here, marthamoo!!!!!
Anyway, I need a Henry helpline... he is not performing .. his flex will not be teased and the windy thing will not wind now.

anybody got a number I can call?

OP posts:
flea · 29/07/2004 09:16

A friend has a contract cleaning company and they only use Henrys.. I will ask them later if they have had this problem and solved it!

moniker · 29/07/2004 09:52

oh yes - I love my Henry! He is red and has such a smiley face I almost like vacuuming these days!! I always say goodbye when i put him away - how sad (or weird) is that!

Hope your Henry gets sorted out Unicorn - poor little chap

anorak · 29/07/2004 10:07

Unicorn, I do still have all the paperwork for mine (although it's years old). I've just tried to get at it, but we are doing a massive decorating/floor laying job at the moment and there is stuff piled up in front of my filing cabinet. It should be moved by the end of the day and I will try to remember to look up a number for you then. Raise this thread at 5-6pm if I haven't posted, and that will remind me.

flea · 29/07/2004 10:45

Talking to my henry expert he said that you have to take the top off : the inside of the top half will then have 8 screws : 4 for the lid, 4 for the covering of the engine. He reckoned it is easy to tell which is which! Unscrew the 4 for the lid and then you will be able to untangle the mess.. He did say that if it is really tangled up you might have to replace the cable. This was reeled off in a very matter of fact way and he knew exactly what I was talking about : so it obviously happens a lot. (this person has about 50 or 60 Henrys)

unicorn · 29/07/2004 16:52

Thanks flea...I hope it isn't going to be major breakdown -( already got problems with washing machine and delivery! everything breaks at once here )

OP posts:
anorak · 29/07/2004 17:12

Sorry unicorn, still can't get into the drawer. Tomorrow at latest everything should be moved. Perhaps flea's suggestion will sort out your problem but if not bump the thread tomorrow afternoon until I see it.

unicorn · 29/07/2004 17:16

will do anorak- thanks..( btw what flooring are you having- and are you doing it yourself? - another thread I think!)

I've got two lots of addresses and phone numbers on my bumph, maybe because I have two Henrys. (Used to run guesthouses and now I keep a spare Henry in the loft). I'm not sure which is the most recent so I'll copy both for you.

Presume that number would now be 01308?

Incidentally, my paperwork says that Henry is guaranteed for 10 years.

Floor - ceramic tiles, 30cm, dark grey, rough surface, laid diagonally by my friend Bill. They look great!

spacemonkey · 30/07/2004 19:18

I got my henry yesterday and he is yellow!

unicorn · 30/07/2004 19:31

Thanks anorak.. hopefully will get it sorted soon.. house is even messier than usual (and that is saying something!)
enjoy yours Spacem.. but remember don't play with his flex!

OP posts:
anorak · 30/07/2004 19:43

My two are yellow and red. Yellow lives in the loft. I really am an anorak aren't I?
