Hi all, has anyone used Aldi's formula milk and if so what are your views?

I used it, once I realised it was pretty much the same as Aptamil but 40% cheaper. It was grand.

Formula ingredients in the UK are very strictly controlled to meet nutritional standards. Aldi formula will be almost identical nutritionally to the big names.

Exactly as ouch says Smile

I switched to using it from Aptimil at about 6 months (breastfed until 5 months) and DD didn't even notice the change. At £6.99 a tub what's not to like.

The only slight difference I have noticed is that it doesn't seem to cake in the bottles in the same way Aptimil did, but I consider that to be a positive.

Word of caution however, I have cut my finger on the removable foil lid a couple of times when I've been peeling it off, suspect that's more user error on my part though.

I use it as I mainly shop in Aldi and fancied a change as it's a lot cheaper than our usual Cow and Gate. My youngest DS had bad reflux so thought we'd try a different milka to see if it made a difference. He seemed to enjoy it more and it smells creamier than other milks so that may be why, but we're really happy with it.

The only bad thing is the scoop is always right inside the formula so have to dig it out with your fingers.

I was desperate to change over to save money but they don't make the ready bottles and I was too concerned about mixing brands throughout the day

EvilCleverDog · 20/01/2018 15:11

It made ds really sicky

punkpuffin · 20/01/2018 15:15

We switch between cow and gate and aldi and ds doesn't seem to mind.

pastabest · 20/01/2018 15:18

pingle DD happily switched between Aldi powder and the Aptimil ready mix bottles if we needed, I think they must taste pretty similar as she was never keen on other brands if I tried them otherwise.
