Just wondering if anyone knows if Aptamil is available in USA, or if another could be recommended. Also is there a good range of organic baby foods containing no hidden nasties.

think you can get Hipp food there same as here, no clue re formula I'm afraid.

When I went to Syria, I e-mailed Aptamil to ask if it was available there - they were really good about replying - the web address is on the cartons so give that a try

Don't know about organic food but I'm sure they have plenty in the states that is really good or you could do what I did - I took a load of the Plum Baby organic range with me - you can find it in Boots/Tescos etc and this gave me a bit of time to shop around and buy local stuff and a fall back if DS didn't like it

To be honest we went when our dd was 9 months old and we took our own powdered milk ( cow and gate). I was told they only stocked and sold american brands. The jarred food was good in range but not necessarily organic. We found packing the milk was ok and when done it left us room for coming back with stuff we bought. We also had a villa in florida so i did make a lot of babys food myself and she did eat a lot of finger food whilst out and just generally ate off our plates.

The main jarred food was made by Gerber foods if you want to research them further.

They had Gerber food in Syria as well. Its not organic but its a good range and I gave DS some of it

I'm not sure if it is the same for the whole US but where we are (NY) you can get Gerber, BeechNut and Earth's Best. Only Earth's Best is organic and it is a bit harder to find. HTH

No aptamil - and you will be shocked at the price of formula in the USA. Bring your own if you're only coming for a couple of weeks. If not you could google the main brands and see which is closest to your usual brand. Similac and Enfamil are the only ones that I can think of off the top of my head. The formulas here have iron added so maybe there aren't any that are truely close to UK versions. I know exchange rate is good but you will pay $20-30 for a not very big tin of formula. Gerber food is ok and there are organic ones too. Hope this helps.

Depends on where you are going. In California you will have no trouble finding every organic/healthy food known to man (or woman).
