Passed my test last month, bought a car a week or so ago. I live in a flat above a shop and there's a small area for parking used by residents and the staff of two or three shops. It's on a very steep slope. Today, car parked pretty close to me, I reversed out only to realise I'd massively scraped the car next to me. Absolutely devastated. Tracked down the lady, she was very nice (turns out it's a courtesy car as someone drove into the back of her when we had heavy snow recently) and have exchanged details. What happens now? No real damage to my car, slight scrape and a small dent but I feel such an idiot and really disheartened, not to mention worried about what it means for my insurance.
