what about a red one to go with your hair?

misdee · 01/05/2007 10:53

it will be purple next week.

mumto3girls · 01/05/2007 10:53

oh...i liked the red...you'd best get a mauve one again then!

LittleEgg · 01/05/2007 12:01

Ooh misdee does your hair change weekly? You could get a Zapp in every colour so you are always coordinated...

I already know all the cons of my Zapp. Doesn't recline, no basket, wider than most lightweight buggies, luminous orange, not as quick to fold as my McLaren, but I STILL love it.

DS is in combats today, and the sun is out, so will aim to get a pic this afternoon.

LittleEgg · 01/05/2007 12:33

Gulp. Just seen someone's selling a red Bugaboo. I think I am turing into a pramaholic... Misdee, do I remember correctly that you are a pramaholic? Any tips for nipping it in the bud early?

mumto3girls · 01/05/2007 12:34

Hi again LittleEgg - how was swimming?

LittleEgg · 01/05/2007 12:48

Swimming was good, saw two of the mum's from our normal swimming class there so DS had some chums and I had someone to chat to. He got grumpy though after 10 mins and is v tired today. Then he burst into tears on the way back as went by the swings (they were out of view, I didn't tease him with them), and he realised we were not turning up the path towards them. He was too tired to eat his lunch and ended up having milk. He's tucked up in bed now and I am making cottage pie (one of my very few culinary delights).

LittleEgg · 01/05/2007 13:13

Forgot to say. I wore my bikini under my clothes on the way there as it saves time and hassle. When I was getting dressed afterwards I realised I forgot to take ANY underwear . Was a bit uncomfortable on the way home.

Being honest i don't think this is marketed as all terrain, but it handles going over bumpy sandy paths and over smooth grass etc

Get one and join in, y'know you wanna!

I think LL said somewhere miles down the thread that it's not GREAT at cross country, but it is definitely smoother on bumps than my Mclaren. Not sure about off road though. Will be testing mine off road sometime in the next few weeks when visiting the inlaws though, they live in the middle of NOWHERE.

It's got suspension, so on bumpy ground, it just feels a bit more bumpy. I've pushed mine on all kinds of terrain (well, not exactly off roading, but ykwim) and it's been fine.

There is one downside, if you are a bit shy - everyone looks at you.

I think it would be great for the lake district (although I don't think it floats, so not as a boat)

LittleEgg · 01/05/2007 13:28

Everyone only stares when you have the Orange "Flash". If you got a different colour you could still be a bit shy.

If you are used to a Mclaren, the zapp will feel smooth as a baby's bottom . I started with an all-terrain 3-wheeler, so everything feels bumpy in comparison, but everything also feels light as a feather in comparison.

ScottishMummy · 01/05/2007 14:06

yes - orange zapp is bright and gets a few 2nd looks

i gotta fess up - it is my second pram use it for travelling/flying/eurostar cos it so light portable and i have carried on as hand luggage

my other pram is a bugaboo

am i still a posse member

LittleEgg · 01/05/2007 14:16

Ahhhhh so you have a Bugaboo. When I was first pregnant, I planned to get one. Then every second person I saw had one, and I went off them a bit (it was temporary, but I didn't know that). I ended up spending almost as much once I had got my whole travel system and still regret not getting one .

ScottishMummy · 01/05/2007 14:21

i love my bugagboo, great pram. they really do rile some folks and provoke a vitriolic response...dunno why...just a pram
