Question for Phil n Ted E3 owners...

Hello

ds and dd are about to start going to the childminder as am going back to work again. On most days dh will be taking them, with his bike (which he then cycles on to work on). My question is, can you push and steer an e3 with one hand (quite a strong one in dh's case!)?

yes very very easy to push and steer with one hand, in fact I usually only use one hand, the other is holding my dd's hand.

(allot of hands in my post)

IdrisTheDragon · 17/04/2007 12:07

I can push and steer our E3 fine with one hand (and then steer DS with the other one ).

Would your DH be riding his bike at the same time, or pushing it?

docket · 17/04/2007 12:13

oooh, this sounds good thanks! Idris, dh would be pushing his bike with one hand and hopefully pushing the p/chair with the other

Was thinking about this again as I was pushing DD in the E3, and DS was riding his trike to pre-school.

He needed quite a bit of steering and all was well .

Thanks Idris. One more question about the E3 (am just about to take the plunge and purchase) - does it fold up relatively small? Ta

Yep very small/flat, if you fold the shopping basket up you can decrease it by a few inches too, I can fit 2 in my boot. One thing I will say though is they dont have a clip to keep them folded so there is a knack in keeping it together, it has a long safety strap on the handle which I tye arond the front wheel to keep it toghether.

IdrisTheDragon · 18/04/2007 08:14

It folds up small and takes up less boot space than my M&P pliko did (when I only had DS).

Thanks very much for your help. Have just bought one

Congratulations & welcome to the P&T club

amidaiwish · 18/04/2007 08:46

the new Sport model does now have a strap to keep it shut
and the rear double seat reclines too
how cool?

IdrisTheDragon · 18/04/2007 08:47

. I love my P&T .

NannyL · 18/04/2007 18:42

yup steering it with 1 hand is NOT a problem!

I can do it easily with over 30kg of child in it and im a tiny girl!

NannyL · 18/04/2007 18:44

Also hillary just last week i discovered our 19month old phil and teds DOES have a strap to keep it folded together... its strapped by the front wheel and has a popper with poppers by the front seat.... which you un pop and pop it to itself to keep ther P&T closed

Hilllary · 18/04/2007 18:47

Well I'll be NannyL I never knew that, thank you very much that will save alot of back breaking getting it in and out of my car

quokka · 18/04/2007 18:59

I just sold mine .
I found the double sunshade for it(long forgotten under the stairs), its for when you are using the seat behind for the toddler iykwim? Anyone want to buy it, make me an offer if you like? Not sure you can get them here, bought it in OZ.

Hilllary · 18/04/2007 19:00

Ooh is that one of those black mesh ones? how much did you want for it?

quokka · 18/04/2007 19:02

yes thats the one. Will google it can't remember how much I paid. Been used very very lightly.

quokka · 18/04/2007 19:10

£20? Like I said its hardly been used, they are selling in Mothercare for £30

NannyL · 18/04/2007 19:12

I only very recently discovered it when some random person in the street said "did u know there was something hanging down from the buggy"

i didnt know and my bosses told me what it was!

If it wasnt for mumsnet i wouldnt have realsied my phil and teds could have had a fixed wheel cause i was maoning that it didnt have a fixed wheel!!!
