Tripp Trapp - how on earth do you get your baby in and out?

I have the Tripp Trapp and love how it looks. DD is a tall and chubby 8 months old. She loves sitting in it. However I find it impossible to get her in and out with the baby bar on. I end up hurting her legs as I try to bend and straighten them round the bar. Has anyone else found this a problem with the Tripp Trapp? Does anyone have any tips? Is there a knack? Am I missing something? Help before my DD developes a phobia of the beginning and end of meal times!

Do you need to put the seat lower ie as far as the leather bit will stretch?

Good tip Cargirl. I will try lowering the seat as it is on the top slot.

i had the same prob initially - then i lowered the seat to the 2nd slot from the top. also i think there is a knack to holding them - i phold her around the tummy with one hand, with the other under her bottom and you can then guide the legs in if you stand behind the seat. it's ok now!

We had the same problem with DS - there is a knack, and lowering the seat as far as the leather strap will stretch does help for a while, but I did take the baby bars off earlier than I would have liked (about 14mths, I think) because he just plain didn't fit any more! It's all coming back to me now as DD (6mths) sometimes refuses to co-operate with being put in - but now I have a bumbo as well so if she really doesn't want to go in the high chair she goes in that instead!
