Lidl had one a few weeks ago for under £50. Keep an eye out and see if they do one again. Unfortunately, I only go on a Thursday, when good offers like that have usually sold out.

The Braun handheld ones are brilliant and under £50. They do everything a full sized one will do, just smaller quantities for chopping - so good for one or two onions but not much use if you routinely want to do more than that.
The handheld wand bit is great for pureeing, liquidising, blending saald dressings etc and there's a whisk too.
