Vertbaudet? La Redoute? (obviously have strappy/mini stuff too, but I think they have a fair few floaty skirts etc).

Joe Browns do that slightly floaty hippy thing. Lots of cutaway and strappy things, though, but you can wear long-sleeved tops underneath, which is also dd1's preferred solution to anything too low cut.

Top Shop, if you can face it. Go early. They have loads of those long slightly smocky tops if that isn't too fashiony for your tastes. Primark is always worth a look, ditto Matalan. They had lots of tiered skirts in floral fabrics last time I looked (though dd1 has inconveniently gone off that style in favour of skinny jeans and, er, more skinny jeans). I know you said no trousers, but would you consider leggings under dresses? If she can get her head round the dress over trousers/leggings look you should be spoiled for choice.

Primark & Matalan not online, sorry. But worth a look, Matalan in particular.

lisalisa, Primark is absolutely worth making the time for. I dress my dd (4) in what I consider traditional clothes (ie none of these mini skirts and bellybutton exhibiting things) and always find things at Primark. At the moment they have a dozen different beautiful 100% cotton knee length girls dresses in beautiful spring colors and lots of tasteful embroidery. They are so lovely and sooo cheap (£6 each) that I bought one in every style and color. In fact, I live in the usa now and still get my husband to bring them over for me.
