On a dual carriageway?

Up to 70, depending on the conditions.

dementedpixie · 07/11/2017 19:18

I agree

FruitCider · 07/11/2017 19:22

Depends on how many lanes, if there are roundabouts etc, other conditions.

Not2day · 07/11/2017 19:23

What's the speed limit of the dual carriageway in question???

Kursk · 07/11/2017 19:23

At the speed of the other traffic

Ginmakesitallok · 07/11/2017 19:23

Up to about 75.

PeaPodPopper · 07/11/2017 19:23

I drive according to conditions and speed limits.

dementedpixie · 07/11/2017 19:31

does it have a national speed limit sign? If so, up to 70

RatRolyPoly · 07/11/2017 19:35

I drive at 70.

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower · 07/11/2017 19:38

Same speed as the rest of the traffic, generally.

lljkk · 07/11/2017 21:11

I did a lot of dual carriageway driving today, & got to wondering why some people stuck to the speed limit when others whizz away & others barely get above 60. More people were driving around 70 today, than I expected.

I'm totally happy to be a speed demon but trying to tame myself painful .

Whatever I judge to be safe according to the conditions. Maybe 50-60, maybe high 80s. Frankly on an empty motorway in clear conditions that’s perfectly safe. But I will be flamed by the timorous middle lane hoggers who inhabit this forum.

FruitCider · 08/11/2017 10:26

If my daughter is in the car, I will generally drive at 60-70 on a dual carriageway depending on driving conditions. Maybe a tad faster on my own. On the motorway I tend to hover just below 80 unless the traffic is moving faster than this, then I keep up with the traffic.

IFellDownAHole · 08/11/2017 10:29

Depends on conditions but generally around 70. I tend to be one of the slower cars though, either my speedometer is adjusted to make it look like I’m going faster than I am or most people go over 70.

Eolian · 08/11/2017 10:29

60-70, depending on conditions. I don't tend to break the speed limit on a dual carriageway, but go up to about 77 on a motorway depending on conditions.

Crowdo · 08/11/2017 10:31

Up to about eighty if it was a clear straight road in good weather conditions with no traffic ahead.

Papayamum · 08/11/2017 10:31

When I'm in the right lane I sometimes do 80-90. Other cars go faster than that and I have to go back in to the left lane.

sharklovers · 08/11/2017 13:09

Depends entirely on the conditions, probably 70-85 in light traffic when dry etc. Many leptons in the middle of the night when deserted.
