Mychild magazine - anyone had issue 10 yet?

I think I may have been had ?! In Feb I got a call from a telesales lady offering a "free" trial of a new educational magazine called "MyChild". It sounded interesting so I agreed to take it - could send back after 7 days if not interested etc. They would send age appropriate software to preview and could keep this if took out the subscription etc.
The box arrived fine - software was age appropriate - it was ok stuff. The magazine was quite interesting and so I thought I would take the subscription and not send the stuff back. All hunky dory so far. The magazine is supposed to be a monthly magazine - the copy I got in Feb was issue 9 and was clearly coming to the end of its shelf life then as all the dates for entering competitions, sending off for free stuff etc had just passed. So I was expecting to get the next issue (issue 10) fairly soon after that.
Its now 2 months down the line and nothing has turned up. I have called customer services a couple of times - two weeks ago - "its due out and you will have it by next week" - today - "its due out and you will have it by next week".
Something tells me if I call again next week I'll get the same! So has anybody had issue 10 yet?!!
Incidentally the subscription cost £79.90 for 2 years - I have checked out Amazon and I could have bought all the software they have sent from Amazon for £54.42. The terms and conditions say the magazine is "complimentary" so it looks like I have been shafted and bought a bunch of software that I don't really want at a premium price!

Never heard of it but, assuming this is the correct website, there isn't an Issue 10 yet.

Thank you for the replies - had found the website, that started my suspicions as no mention of when next issue due out!

To stop anyone else getting stung by this one: the initial call came via vertbaudet - they introduced themselves as vertbaudet and said they had a special offer for Vertbaudet customers, then the spiel. Hope this helps anyone else falling for this one!

Well in that casa, I would contact Vertbaudet and see if they can sort it out. They are a big company and I don't think they would want their name sullied by a con like this (if it is a con).
Are you sure it was Vertbaudet you were speaking to? Could it have been someone claiming to be them? I would also contact Trading Standards as it all sounds very suspicious.

Just to let you know the magazine finally turned up - will wait to see if anymore come! Apparently they were switching over from bi-monthly to monthly magazines and there has been a bit of a blip.

I did talk to Trading Standards but as the terms and conditions say the magazine is "complimentary" there would be nothing you could do to enforce getting the full subscription. It is worded that you are buying the starter pack of cd-roms etc and they give you the magazine free. So just be aware of that if anyone else is thinking of taking it out!

Other than that the magazine is actually quite good. It is meant to complement the state education system and tell you what the children are learning about at school in KS1 and KS2. This edition is about how schools prepare for SATs etc. I hope they can keep it up!
