Does anyone know what the name is for the cushion type thing filled with beans that you put in the oven/microwave?

Dazie · 09/04/2007 10:11

We call them wheat packs in our house. Body shop sell them with lavender in and I have also seen them in Wilkinsons quite cheap.

I have one & call it a Porridge Bag
but I think Wheat Bag is a more correct name. YOu can get them with Cherry Stones in too

Thanks, I will have a look online as I havent seen them in Spain, although we do have Body shop. My Mum is in such pain, thought it might help.

Get a cotton sock and half/three-quarter fill with uncooked rice. Tie a knot in the top or use a hairband with no metal bits on to close it.

Heat in the microwave for 2-3 minutes. It will smell of cooked rice but makes a great heat pack. You can make them any size, any amount. You'll need to heat for longer the more rice you have in and take care when getting it out of the microwave as it sometimes releases steam/heat.

We have a few socks and a old pillowcase as an extra large one!

Thanks zippi, I will see what I can get here or try sue's sock idea. It would probably cost you a fortune to send it to Spain [obviously I would send you the money}
