Looking for a 3/4 yrs girls raincoat/jacket

Has anyone seen a waterproof jacket in the shops? I spotted a girl wearing a Next one (so I asked her mum where it was from) but they've sold out. I don't have time to go into town on a big search so wondered if anyone could tell me where they've bought one from. I've only time to nip in and out of town quickly this week and I'd really like one for this weekend when we're away. I'm more than happy to buy off the Net too.

Cheers!

there's one of those half-zip things on the boden website for about a tenner, nice patterns. i'd say showerproof rather than waterproof.

If you want cute ones, look at www.stylechild.co.uk or if you want a more basic mac-in-a-sac type of thing, I'd look in your nearest outdoor shop HTH

Hulababy · 18/07/2004 23:13

Are you wanting a proper coat/jacket or just a plastic, waterproof type thing?

If the latter I got 2y DD a waterproof (plastic) coat in lilac/transparent with butterfly motifs for £3.50 from B Wise. It has airholes under arms and a decent sized hood. It comes to about knees, maybe a little higher.

I had never been in the shop before but Dd spotted it in the window. Seemed such a bargain I couldn't really say no. It folds to nothing so is ideal for throwing at the bottom of a bag, to take on holiday, etc.

Peacocks also do nice, reasonably priced ones.

I had a terrible job trying to find one for DS1 the other day but there seemed to be loads for girls (typical!) Adams, Asda. I got his in John Lewis - very dull, plain navy but does the job

Millets do a good basic waterproof with a hood that rolls into the collar, £16.99 I think it was. Comes in a variety of different colours - we of course have a PINK one for DD (5 can't you tell?!)

Thank you ladies! Lots of choice so will go and have a browse. I'm really looking for a cheapo shove in a bag for all the showers we're having at the moment. We're planning on going to Legoland on Sunday and DD refuses to wear her coat (I don't blame her as it's a ski jacket )
