Have a Citroen C4, would like more space in the back

Hi,

I have a C4 from 2006 and am thinking maybe of trying to get a new car soon (although probably can't really afford it). Maybe secondhand, maybe new if financing permits. I live in Europe so things a bit different, but wanted some advice as I don't really know what to consider.

Have a 9 and 6 year old and the car won't get much use as nobody commutes in it at all and kids can walk to school. But do need a car, can't manage totally without one.

Sometimes my brother comes to stay and we all travel in it on holiday, so 3 adults + the 9 and 6 year old (who are both quite big for their age).

I'm wondering if we get a new(ish) car, to try to get something a bit roomier in the back (maybe like a c4 Picasso) or not to bother.

Any suggestions? Can be recommendations for models to buy secondhand as well as new, all a bit up in the air.

Thanks.
