Please someone must know

Ds wants a dictation machine and I wondered if we could get one that combined a DICTOPHONE & MP3 or IPOD together

DO they exist?

Has anyone got one?

He wants to be able to record his notes for revision etc.

If you find one please could you link to it in ARGOS or DIXONS etc

Or if it is your own one please tell me the make and/or model

I am sure this won't be the only unanswered question on Mumsnet

Will it?

Thanks

.

Ohh i'm sure dd1 said she could do that with hers, will go ask her.

RTKangaMummy · 01/04/2007 12:31

Thanks Nutty

yes you can.

Definitely.

But I don't know how you do it. Apparently if you go into "mode" there is an option to record. (so says dd1)

tortoise · 01/04/2007 12:31

DS1 has this one and can record his voice on it.

CadburyCremeSquonk · 01/04/2007 12:32

You can record for the whole of the "time" that the mp3 player can handle, as long as there is not also music stored.

RTKangaMummy · 01/04/2007 12:32

can you do it on all of them or just some of them?

How long can you record?

ie can you do a couple of hours or is it just a few minutes

Dd1 says you can do it on all of them. She's 13 so she should know.

I, on the other hand, have absolutely no idea, it's all magic to me.o

RTKangaMummy · 01/04/2007 12:34

Hmmm we may be a while Kanga, apparently you can record on it but she's having trouble figuring out how. It says up to 40 hours of recording time.

Hers is a Creative Zen one so maybe worth looking at some of those and seeing if they say you can record.

NuttyMuffins · 01/04/2007 12:35

Ohh i got that one free with a mobile phone theother day Tortoise.

tortoise · 01/04/2007 12:41

It seems a good one. Not too expensive and easy to use.

RTKangaMummy · 01/04/2007 13:38

Thanks guys

I think we will get the one in ARGOS

What happens when the battery runs out?

Do the TUNES disappear or are they held somewhere in the memory?

OP posts:
tortoise · 01/04/2007 13:46

Held in the memory.

RTKangaMummy · 01/04/2007 14:00

WOW deffo brill

Thanks you guys are soooooooooooo deffo brill

I am totally ignorant with this stuff

It seems that IPODs don't record on or have Radio - not that he listens to radio really.

I have ordered it and DH can go and collect later

I only know about it from buying DS1's at chrismas! I had to learn about downloading music and how to put songs on his mp3!

Glad you managed to get one.

RTKangaMummy · 01/04/2007 14:26

Well that will be another experience
