very, very small when folded (and cheap) second pushchair for very occasional use

I asked a while back for recommendations for a second pushchair to go in dh's car (tiny boot), and a few people suggested the cheapest Maclaren (the Volo, I think). I was just about to bid for one on ebay, went to measure the car boot just to be on the safe side, and it is too long.

Back to the drawing board. I've noticed that the Quinny one (Zapp, I think, can't remember) would fit easily because it folds really small. Does anyone know offhand of any others that fold up to be small like that (to save me trailing through all the websites ). I like the Quinny one, but can't really justify spending that much on a pushchair that is going to be used very infrequently.

Not sure how basic you want, but we bought one similar to this when DH went off to work by mistake with the pushchair in the back of the car - it really is very basic indeed, though, no raincover, no basket, nothing really. (you're not in Oxfordshire, are you - you could have ours...)

graco citilite. The handle folds down on itself when folded up.

misdee · 01/04/2007 10:37

the new m+p luna apparently fits in the boot of a mini.

FlossALump · 01/04/2007 10:38

I'm not sure if the toys r us one folds up any smaller? Its about £17 atm.

FlossALump · 01/04/2007 10:44

boys one here

FlossALump · 01/04/2007 11:01

just measured ours and it is 99 cms long when folded. I'll stop posting now

MuffinMclay · 01/04/2007 11:55

Grrrr. Was just about to post (ages ago) when we had a powercut.

JackieNo - thanks, that is a really kind offer but we are miles away and that one is even longer than the Volo.

The Volo is 104 cm long, and the max we can fit is about 90cm.

Cece - been looking for the Graco Citilite but can't find it anywhere to get the dimensions. I'll keep hunting.

I'll check out the M&P one now.

MuffinMclay · 01/04/2007 11:58

M&P Luna would fit nicely, but is much more expensive than the Quinny one.

I think the Combi Dash is just a few cm too long. I'm going to measure again after lunch.

kittypants · 01/04/2007 12:10

growingbagpuss · 01/04/2007 12:20

We bought a cheap as chips pushcahir frm Wilkinsons - I can't remember the dimensions, but the wheels just clip on and off so it is really small - it has to be - we have a Porsche (old one) with the worlds smallest storage area.

Good Luck

thePA · 01/04/2007 12:22

think the Graco a CitiSport, not citilite, that might be why you've had problems finding one? mothercare have a citilite.

there are a few graco citisport on ebay

dimensions Folded: 46cm x 46cm x 83cm

try here

Sorry to hijack this thread but do any of you who have suggested the Luna know when it is released. It seems to answer all my criteria (for now)!!!

misdee · 01/04/2007 13:13

its availble in some m+p stores now.

dizzymac · 01/04/2007 13:25

Thankyou. I might take a trip out sometime soon.

MuffinMclay · 01/04/2007 21:43

The citiport looks fine for what I need. Think I'll try and get one off ebay.

Thanks for all the help everyone.
