Does anyone have/can anyone recommend a waffle-maker, preferably with removable, dishwasher-safe 'plates'?

Tchibo did a really good one a while back.

oh, being german I love waffles...and tchibo often has good offers on wafflemakers...so has Lidl and Aldis at times...
tbh, no idea why you would want teh plates to be dishwasher safe....it really only needs a wipe after using, as long as it has non stick plates!

I thought that with all those grooves it would be a faff cleaning them each time. Is non-stick really all I need?

I have an old-fashioned aluminium stovetop one and as long as you grease it properly (I use one of those oil sprays) the waffle just falls out and you don't need to clean it beyond that.

It's not like sandwich toasters where you end up with lots of burnt-on cheese etc.
