My son has set his heart on a bow and arrow. He is half way through his star chart and I can't find one anywhere! I had in mind one of those ones with suction cups on the end of the arrows. Does anybody know where I might find one? (My son is 4)

We got one from Somerfields about a month ago but they still had them quite recently. Not very good quality and the bit of the arrow that goes on the string breaks quite easily but ds1 (4) loves his. Hope you find one.

Have you tried Jessops?? Whoops sorry they've re-named John Lewis. You should live in Nottingham like me. No problem getting a bow and arrow what with Nott'm castle etc selling Robin Hood bow and arrows. Not the best quality though.

We got a beautiful, well-made wooden one from the Letterbox catalogue - agree that it's hard to find good ones in the shops. Ds (5 last birthday) loves it, even insisting on dining with it slung over his back

We got a nice wooden one from Ragged Rascal. You get a mumsnet discount from them too.

We got a fantastic one from Tridias (com or co.uk) though it might be a bit big for a 4 year old. It is plastic, but very strong and well made, has arrows with suckers, and I also bought a target which we have hung on a door on the upstairs landing - much kerpowing goes on in our house!

Thank you all you brilliant mumsnetters! The hours I have spent on the net searching for one! I will now refocus on the places you have suggested.
