Bought new car last week and it's a Jerk.

I part exchanged my Passat last week for an 11 plate Vauxhall Insignia with 42.000 miles. However, it keep jolting quite violently when I put it into Drive or reverse. Otherwise, it seems to be driving fine. (Automatic)
I'm so sick of car problems ! It's under 3 month warranty so I will have to take it back but has anyone any clue whether this is a major mistake of mine (I bought it myself and test drove and also paid for a pre inspection check) or could it be something minor. I'm worried as I'll have to go back myself and not very knowledgeable about cars so they might fob me off.

Hi. I was wondering if you ever got to the source of your probably with the jerking of your car?
Mine is doing the same thing and have just been quoted 2k to fix the gearbox!
Any advice would be truly appreciate.

Hi,
have you checked the vauxhall insignia owners forum?

I had the same issue with a Honda Jazz automatic. I think the garage were waiting for my six month warranty to run out before telling me it was an expensive gearbox problem. I traded the car in after 5 months of listening their shit (telling me there was nothing wrong with it). A few weeks after it left my possession, I got a call from the new owner who'd tracked me down. He asked if I'd got shut of it due to a gearbox issue. He said he'd taken to a Honda dealership somewhere else and been quoted £2k for fixing the exact problem I said it had and my garage had said it hadn't had.

Get shut of it.

was your Jazz the i-shift automatic?
the i-shift was no more than an automated manual, no wonder Honda soon dropped it

I'm not sure what they called it... it was a CVT belt system.

On the subject of Insignias though, we've had two autos and they've both been great with no issues. Ran one of them to 200k miles.

This thread was posted in AUGUST 2017. I assume the OP has got rid of the car already.
