DIDYMOS slings - any tips?

Just got one and DS (5.5 months) loves it. Still struggling a bit with the different tying methods. It's a size 6 and I always seem to end up with miles of material left after I've knotted it and it won't hand that well cos the material's quite thick (I have the linen blend one). Any tips for getting it to look a bit neater? Or any tips generally?

I've tried the wrap and cross and the rucksack carry - both seem to leave loads of material! Good tip about washing it - I did that that some of the stiffness might be due to the newness of the material. Also need to watch the dvd to make sure we're doing it right!

Are you petite? Smaller women often prefer a size 5, and for a rucksack, a size 4 is perfect. I have a size 4 specifically for rucks.

Thanks - tried the wrap cross carry today ( as oposed to the cross carry) and perfect for length. May consider getting another sling for rucksack carry - though am not petite! I can see this getting addictive

No - got mine from a shop in the UK. Does it involve me reading German?
