Which are the best ones to use?? MIL bought DS some swimming trunk type things that have a nappie already in them?? Are these ok to use on own, or do they raise the possibility of floaters........

we use Huggies swim nappies (disposable)

have never had to deal with a poo in them though...

LittleHarrysMum · 27/03/2007 14:58

Huggies. Check! Will buy some next shop thanks NP.

Also DS is 8 months old is it worth buying armbands seeing as he will be held most (sorry ALL ) the time anyway???

Can you tell it's first time swimming?? Plus DP is taking him so need to cover all angles

Boots own are really good too

Mumpbump · 27/03/2007 15:00

We used Huggies - you can tear them off afterwards which is good, but my neighbour used to wash them out and re-use...

Ceebee74 · 27/03/2007 15:01

I use the ones like your MIL has bought - always been fine with them but DS has never pooed in them so I can't hel p on that front (or behind so to speak )

We have some arm bands for dd, 12 months, but have never used them as even first size ones seem to be huge on her tiny arms. She has a swim seat and loves it but a friend's ds hates his! See if you can borrow some from a friend to try for the first couple of visits as there is no way of knowing in advance.

We use huggies too

nailpolish · 27/03/2007 15:02

we had one of these little floata baby things

armbands are fine tho, expect ds to have a mini-panic first time though and eh will findit a very strange feeling!

baby-a-float

theres loads on ebay too

LittleHarrysMum · 27/03/2007 15:03

NP I bought one of those from there the other day! Will probably give that to DP to take with him.

oh fabulous littleharrysmum, i found them fantastic, baby loves them and you can be confident

armbands are good for when they are a little bigger

piglit · 27/03/2007 15:07

I agree about the swim seats. My dses loved them. We've got the little floaty zip up vest things for them now (2 and 1). Ds1 isn't sure about it but ds2 loves it.

Huggies swim nappies do keep poo in. My ds2 poos about 50% of the time he goes in water and we haven't had an accident yet. He will be going for a gold medal in pooing at the next olympics.

I also had to buy him these for when we're away just because they looked so cute.

Baby Banz

He looks hilariously 'cool' in them

LOL piglet!! At least I'll know he's safe from creating his own 'sailboats'

Would be funny to see DP try to deal with that though
