Washer dryers: which to get

Hello hive mind:

Our washing machine is on its last legs. We are thinking of getting a washer dryer as I am expecting. It would be great to have one which doesn't take an age, has one of those delayed start mechanisms, actually dries (never had one which does more than make clothes steamy) and isn't terribly loud (it will be in the kitchen) no need for it to be integrated. We don't have a spare cupboard door to put on it.

Anyone happy with theirs?

Any ones to avoid?

Avoid all of them. We even sent out Meile one back for separate washer and dryer. They take AGES to dry less than half a full load.

As Dame said, with bells on. They are shite.

Not even any of them?! I've had them before and hardly ever used the dryer but it was sometimes a bit useful to accelerate the air drying process? Last lived somewhere with one 5 years ago. Surely they have it got worse?

They're hopeless. I've used loads as they usually have them in holiday cottages plus the Meile one we had and they've all been dreadful!

I have this John Lewis washer dryer and am really pleased with it. It takes quite a large load and when I use the dryer the clothes do dry well. Yes it's not as good as two separate machines but it does it's job well.

I've had a washer dryer from John Lewis for over 11 years it's brilliant, has the delayed timer thing and you can set it to wash then dry automatically. I think it's an Electrolux machine rebranded. When it gives up I will replace

Great. Worth looking at the JL one. Did they fit it? I've no idea how to attach a washing machine so I hope they would.

Yes they fit and take away the old one for a charge, worth it in my opinion.

Thanks @ASDismynormality
