Jamie Oliver Tefal pans - nightmare

Got these two years ago for wedding and they are so awful now. We've dishwashed them (because they say you can) and the outsides are all scratched and cloudy. anyone else had a problem and what did Tefal do about it? Have drafted complaint letter

Are you serious? I ummed and ahhed between Tesco finest copper based yesterday and tefal- bought tefal.

Seriously you can't really dishwash non-stick pans regardless of what they say. Oh and they'll have a one year warranty so it won't help. I have some other Tefal ones with a 25 year guarantee and they go in the dishwasher fine (eight years later) so I'd say it's Jamie's fault. He probably gobbed on them before they were sold

my tefal pans are three years old and are now shedding theirnon stick into all our food.

if only the outsides are all scratchy/cloudy, then surely they are still OK to use?

I also don't reckon on life long frying pans but have one tefal one that seems to have lasted fairly well.

Tefal pans are great for - 3 yrs max - then you've got to replace them ! I just accept it ! This time I bought the ones that you can use metal utensils in and so far they look a bit better - but are only 6 months old !

It's just a fact of life !! I started off writing to complain many yaers ago - they wren't bovvered !

They are fine to use BUT they look awful on the outside and the bumpf claims they are dishwasher proof and have a lifetime guarantee so am about them

And even the tiny milk pan was £35!!!

You will probably find it's the non-stick bit that is guaranteed (ie they will look like shite but still be nonstick and usable so they won't entertain a claim).

I bet you're right. grrrrrrrrrrrrr. I shall send the letter anyway and see how I get on. We don't have receipts either as they were wedding gifts. Have had Meyer stainless steel pans recommended as replacements

Yep they are good I have some of those. I have some really expensive pans (they cost about £200 each) and honestly you do get what you pay for I'm afraid.

Next time, marry money heheheh, you'll get better gifts!

I have Jamie Oliver pans, had them about 18 months now and they are fine. They are stainless steel and only the frying pans are non-stick, I put them in the dishwasher all the time. Not noticed any deterioration in the non-stick at all and the outsides have become a little scratched but more through me bumping and scratching them than anything else.

However I did have some Meyer pans previous to this that were shiny black on the outside and "dishwasher safe" and all the shiny surface came off the outside of them leaving a dull matt finish that would come off on your hands. All of my Meyer pans were non stick and the non stick was still fine even after years of dishwashing.

Oh, also the ones I have are the ones you are able to use metal utensils in the non-stick pans and they cost about £160 for the set.
