Fold out single bed type thing, where to find one?

I need to get a fold out bed type thing (not a camp bed though), ideally one which looks ok and not too childish, which we could use in our spare room or study.
Was thinking of maybe a Z bed, but not sure how comfy/stylish they are or poss sth from the Futon Company, they have those folding type cushion things, again not sure if they are comfy enough...
Does anyone have any ideas/recommendations?
TIA...

We have z beds and no complaints so far. We got ours from John Lewis and were one of the more expensive ones so fairly thick mattress. Look on their web site as they had a few different ones.

Might be me being dense but just looked on the JL site and nothing comes up under z bed search and can't find any under guest/folding beds either.....

ikea futon. Bought the single chair one when pregnant and have used it loads when breastfeeding and as a guest bed. Very comfotable and looks nice with a throw over it.

argos has a range of them from £34.99 up to £80 depending on what you want to spend

Thanks, cant get to IKEA so looks like Argos it is.
Does anyone have one? Not sure how much we need to spend for comfort...

Can anyone recommend one over the other?
IE a zbed made from foam (like GLTC sells) or a folding metal bed with legs (like a posh camp bed), like the ones in Argos?
Thanks...

My Mum found one that folded into a cabinet but can't remember where she saw it!

We have an Argos single wooden folding futon thing - it's a nicer bed than a z-bed, and looks better when not being a bed, but opening and closing it is a tussle.

We've also had a couple of the blocky foam ones from Ikea, which are easier to flip out and still quite comfortable as beds, but having no frame tend to collapse in the middle after a while.

If you're not going to be making it a bed very often I'd go with the wooden futon type meself

Ours is like this, sort of (has orange check cover though, lovely )

dollyk · 25/03/2007 23:12

I think Ikea are still doing there Daybed its lovely It s like a sofa and there is a sliding draw with another bed underneath and so easy to use
