Our 7 month old ds has learnt to crawl in his cot to the top end of the cot in the night. He then gets cold etc... and several times in the nigyht be moved back down the bed. I have thought about those gro bags things (or something similar) so that when he moves about he is 'covered'.
Anyone used them? What about the tog ratings? Are they safe? Please help!!!

Just bought one (secondhand) for ds (6mths) and so far there's no problems - he's snug as a bug in a rug!! Both ds1 and dd had the fleecy sleepsuits though and they were fine too so will probably use those when he's standing up etc, just in case of possible accidents.

When do you start using them though. I had heard they weren't great for newborns, and certainly all the ones I've seen look really big for a newborn.

The 0-6 month Grobags are for babies over 10lbs. They also do a newborn size from which is from 7lbs.

The website also recommends that for the 0-6 month grobag they are 4-6 weeks old.

Hi sponge, as long as your babies head can't slip down the neck hole bit it is safe, that is why they specify 10lbs. The lenght is irrelevent. I know they look enormous now but it is amazing how quickly they grow out of them. I am feeling all sad as my 6 month old is just about out of her cute sholder popper one.
