Best kids' suitcases?

I'm going to Majorca with my 7 yo and 3.5 yo ds's in August, any suggestions for the best best luggage to take on the plane?

Are Trunkis just an expensive gimmick? Would my 7yo be too old for one?

Thanks :) x

Trunkis are a pain in the tits.

If child wants to pull it, it trips others up - it is not a suitable toy in a busy airport.

I have seen other travellers fall over kids being pulled along on trunkis. Parents think their dc and their right take up so much space in an airport trump others' right to stay upright/get to where they need to go without zig-zagging round precious Zebedee on his suitcase.

They don't fit under the seat in front of you on the plane, so you're up and down all flipping flight getting crap out/putting crap away.

They open right out so are a pain to access Mr Teddy/crayons/sticker books/Kindle once you are sitting down.

Can you tell i hate the feckers?

My dc have a small backpack that they carry themselves.

Hate trunkis so so much. If your kids does miraculously pull on on its 'lead' then adults knock into it. If they sit on it and propel themselves then they are slow and in an airport its quite easy to lose them as so many kids have them.

We just use normal cases. Kids ones hold literally nothing.

I must say DS's trunki is great!
He's got the gruffalo one.
It's lasted very well.

My god Rach93 I know you're only doing your job but could you not try and be a bit more subtle Grin

Sunnydaysrock · 03/08/2017 23:33

I think 7 is too old for a trunki. We had one for my DD and probably stopped using it when she was 4. It is a pain, novelty soon wears off. 7yr old will be better off with small pull along case for the plane.

WiggleYourWoo · 03/08/2017 23:36

Trunkis are a nightmare, I agree with everything elQuinto said. I made a mistake of buying one for my DD. She loves it so now I have to tolerate this pain in the ass every time we travel.
