Has anyone come across a toothpaste suitable for a 9 mth old that does contain fluoride but doesn't contain artificial sweeteners and other such nasties? Thanks

why not just use a mild adult one?

McDreamy · 22/03/2007 13:38

I'm sure Little Green Earthlets do some more natural toothpaste - not sure about the flouride content though.

Green baby is another good company

Forget Little Green Earthlets - couldn't find any but try here

Weleda's is really nice, orange flavour, my ds loves it.

We also use the Weleda one, I buy it from local health food shop. My DS also loves it and it is free from any nasties. Their baby range in general is v good, esp the nappy change cream and calendula oil.

i too have been on this search. Kingfisher do one that is saccharine free but has fluoride. not found a store that sells it though

abracadabra · 24/03/2007 13:53

We have a local shop which sells the Kingfisher one - however not sure if it is suitable for babies - I'm a bit wary as Toms of Maine do one for children but state that it's not suitable for under twos, so presumably adult toothpastes would be even less so. Neither the Weleda nor the Greenbaby ones have fluoride unfortunately. Don't know which is worse - to give her a toothpaste without fluoride or one with artificial sweeteners!!

Well personally I have no trouble NOT giving something added, so the no sweetener / no fluoride toothpastes are for me

we also like Weleda

we like the Toms strawberry one from waitrose.
