help wanted choosing 3 wheeler

we've decided to buy a 3 wheeler to use on walks - we've started going quite a lot and are running out of places to go with current pram - however don't want to replace this. would like something fairly lightweight, good on rough terrain, (won't use shopping), and able to buy second hand (pref ebay) for not too much money - any ideas? thanks

Mountain Buggy?
Phil & Ted's E3?
here ?

Mountain buggy are simply the best type of 3 wheeler.
I had an urban with a swivel whheel for ds1 and sold it to get various toehr double buggies when ds2 came along.

I am sad that i sold the first buggy, but have remedied it by getting a mountian buggy terrain with a fixed front wheel for about £95 from ebay last week.

No other buggy has been anywhere near as good to be honest.

i loved my swivel wheel urban detour and it coped well with all our muddy footpaths. also very cheap to get 2ndhand

we love our hercules raptor 3 spin. It's not the lightest around but it's great over rough terrain as it has big fat wheels and suspension. My dh helped picked it as it's got disc brakes too!

I have an older stle xts twister and love it - they were really expensive in their day but of course now don't sell for much on ebay they are lightweight fold up really small, rear wheels are very quick release and can be pushed on the flat one fingered!

Here is one on ebay at the moment

I have bought 2 recently off ebay (sold my original one when I need a phil & ted) an gone back to them - I think they were around £35 each!

Nope,, you are all wrong.
i have a jane that is crap in comparison to the mountain buggy and i psuh my friend's urban detour sometimes and it is even crapper.

Mountian buggy all the way!

CarGirl · 20/03/2007 22:20

Have to say the xts folds really compact there was only that and the phil & ted that would actually fit in our boots with the wheels on etc

CarGirl · 20/03/2007 22:21

very briefly owned a mountain buggy and have to say the xts was very similar in weight, easy to push it is nothing like the crappy urban detour aka shopping mall version!

for real off road, then mountain buggy.

and i love urban detours lol.
