looking for transport themed mobile
NottsMum · 10/07/2004 16:48
I'm decorating my DD's new bedroom based on a transport theme and would really like to find a bright cheery mobile that goes with the theme.
I'm painting a mural on one wall with cars, a lorry, train, tractor, helicopter and hot air balloons, so thought it would be nice to find a mobile to hang from the ceiling.
If you have any other suggestions for what I could use then please give me some more ideas! (I'm keen to finish it asap as DD2 is due in 7 weeks and will be in DD1's bedroom / nursery, so I want to make her new room look as fun and inviting as possible!)
Thanks ladies!

You could make a lamp shade into a hot air balloon. just get a basic lamp shade some nice ribbon and a little basket. Really easy but looks really good at the same time. My mum did a version of this for my brother many moons ago. He loved it told everyone he met about it!!!!!

Woolgar's do them but I can't get the link to go directly to the mobiles. They are in the nursery section.

Ooh, I like the Woolgar's mobiles. They've a very cool transport mobile - problem is I've gone and bought a flying parrot today from a local toyshop which although doesn't exactly go with the theme DD loved!
TBH not sure my creative skills are up to making a balloon, but I'll bear that in mind....
