For those who don't remember, they jacked it up without the right point, crumpled the chassis adn the n let us drive away knowing the petrol tank was compromised

The situation finally came to an end today

Trading standards took it on, wrote to them several times without a reply. DH asked 'have you telephone?' they said- er no, they did today though,, garage chap said 'no wasn't us' they said Oh OK then, our mistake and that is that . we have ahd to buy a new car.

We were going to take it to court (we have photographs of the damage showing ajck marks by garage) but in the meantime Trading Standards tipped off their colleagues in the council who found garage wasn't registerd, and they're bing closed down- we can't get the money back

Did you consult a solicitor - I think that would have been my first move rather than trading standards.

We couldn't affored one (I'm a student) and there weren't any free ones locally that we could find

Dh just spoke to T/S again, apaprently garage says we hit a kerb . We have photographs taken of jack sheaped indentations!

But we would have to get the garage who saw the car to certify this, and they won't as they don't want to upset anyone (we did get a report done a frew counties away- nobody would take it on locally, the garage owner even got his heavies in with us there with the kids!, but that took a week- this was Christmas- and that was too late apaprently),
