anyone know why you can't use hauck/bugaboo style pushchairs before 6 months?

This is my second random product-related question of the day, but what the hey.

We've got a Hauck Infinity pushchair/pram (also goes under the pseudonym of Mothercare Maui), and it says that the pushchair can't be used under 6m. It has one of those right angle, bucket kind of seats.

Why is this - the chair bit can recline pretty far back and other L-shaped pushchairs (eg the M&P pliko) say from birth? DD at 4 months has pretty good head control, can sit up in a Bumbo - so what is the difference?

I'm asking because she's getting more used to sitting up and so starting to mind the pram - esp on wet days when I have the hood up and she can't see anything.

if it helps, I put my daughter in the pushchair bit of the bugaboo at 4 months. she was fine - I think the manufacturers are just covering themselves against any eventuality

The mothercare site says the Mothercare Maui seat is suitable from birth.

ds was in his bugaboo pushchair bit at 3 months. I think they say 6 months just to make you buy the carrycot bits too.

And the hauk infinity blurb found via Google says "Full reclining seat suitable from newborn"

thankyou everyone - off we go then, with a view. (And I don't know why the shop told us 6 months if it's from birth on the website, probably as you say, vitomum, just to make us buy the pram...)

It's because that all health experts recommend that a baby less than 6 months old should spend most of it's time lying flat in a pram. The infinity, buzz & bugaboo are more like a seat, causing the baby to sit rather than lie.
PS. I have an infinity but my little one is now 8 months old and spend the majority of the earlier months in a 'proper' pram
