getting around

OK all you founts of wisdom. Ds is now at that getting about stage and can crawl (ish) around the place. apart from stair gates and a big safety bash round the house, what can I use when I need to keep him contained! the big babydan playpens look good - anybody got any views on them? other ideas?

We have an ordinary travel cot which we leave up in the dining room and put toys in etc for when I don't want him crawling around. If I'm cooking or somethinhg I can move it so it is across the door way and he can watch me. we also use the travel cot as...a travel cot!
