Sling for 10.5 month old - must be VERY easy!!!

Am travelling solo to NZ at end of month with 10.5 month old. We have a baby Bjorn Active but to be honest I've always found it too slow to get on and off and HRH getting a little big for it now. Anyone know of any really easy / quick to get on and off slings suitable for a 10.5 month old. Its needed because when I leave the buggy I will have handluggage and her to carry and I am worried just in case the airline loses the buggy (scary thought!). Thanks a mill. Any other brilliant ideas welcome too (and yes I know I am crazy but its gotta be done)

ERGO.
its the only way to go.
you can wear front or back.
is hands down the most comfy to wear. (in fact, is the only one i can wear without agony ensuing)
i now comfortably carry my 13m+ in it! never would have thought possible.

you can rent it from bigmamaslings to take on holiday of you like, then buy it if you want it, or send it back if not. absolutely blinkin marvellous they are.

and easy to use too. (i too have no patience for faffing)

are you going to hot bit or cold? coz there are coats designed to be worn with them on your back... worth it if you are in crappy weather i think.

What about a hipseat or backpack?

Thanks. Looks like the ERGO might work if its really easy to put on! Will call Bigmama on Monday. Scootergirl - any backpack recommendations?

i actually want to try out one of those hip seat things... seems a great idea if they want to get up and down all the time...

as for backpacks, i dont know. i was looking for one of those when i came across the ergo, so i havnt tried one. i quite like the idea of one which stands alone when youre not wearing it so that if you took it off to eat at a cafe or something, the child could stay in there while you hand them bits of food (which they could later squidge into your hair no doubt
just not sure how small/light/easy any of them are...
(whereas the ergo is soft so can fold down into a bag)
