Car seat safety - can you help?

After taking the back off our Maxi Cosi Rodi seat for DD to let her sit on the Booster seat, we now think that she would be safer with it back on!!! Have heard that these seats haven't performed very well in safety tests but would like to find out more. Have found the Which online site but being a cheapskate I don't want to pay!! Does anyone know where I can find some info about safety at all?? Thanks!

Have a look on the thread on this forum re Which report from earlier this week - a couple of good links there.

Will give it a go but does it involve £££££s?

Check out www.childcarseats.org.uk (I'd do a link but it looks scary !) Its from ROSPA -
Basically says things about people stop using child car seats too early etc.

Thanks - put the back on the maxi cosi rodi today as we though that we should although I felt that it was worse in safety terms as the seat belt was prevented from returning and left a baggy pouch in front of DD's tummy. Ended up with DH stopping in layby on the way to Lincoln, taking the back off to let DD sit on booster seat and vowing to buy a new different one!!!
Must start a new thread for recommendations for our car as I can't find any links for that either!!
