blackout blinds/ material?????

where can i get some?, id prefer material to sew onto curtain as opposed to blind but would have blind if i couldnt get any material. ds2 has taken to waking at 4.30 am again since we moved into this new house. help me please !!!

you can also get velcro where one bit can be stuck to the window and one sewn onto the fabric - although I have the sore finger to say a sewing machine is probably necessary!

Blooming Marvellous sell blackout curtain lining that you just hook on the back using the same curtain hooks the curtains are hanging with... about £22 I think...

Hi emma, i have just brought blackout blinds for the kids rooms. Dd's both have lilac ones which were 15.99 and 24.99 each from Argos.
Ds has a blue one and we had one for our room too in cream.
Haven't actually put them up yet so can't say if they are any good.

Our kids have the same as nutty in blue from Argos and I have to say it is great especially at keeping the heat out on really hot days. Haven't had a chance to test the theory that it keeps the warm in too in winter but I have faith that it will

Just bought some from mothercare that you hook on the back of your curtains with curtain hooks. They do 2 sizes - small for £25 and large for £35.

any fabric shop. i bought some for dd's curtains from a local fabric shop and just sewn it on the back. also bought blackout blinds from john lewis

I tried blackout lining for curtains and it didn't really work (sorry can't remember where I got it from) - we have resorted to blinds and they are much better - got ours from John Lewis, which you can cut to fit.

Allders sell the material, and liners to attach to your current curtains as well.

Another vote for Argos ones, we've got the cream ones. You cut them to fit. I'm sure they were more than half the price of John Lewis ones.

Dunelm do ready made linings for curtains (which are miles cheaper than anywhere else) and also fabric on the roll.

An other big vote for Dunelm. They do ready made blackout blinds too that you can cut to size. We found that with a blind inside the window and curtains with blackout linings that hang onto the curtain tape with hooks NO LIGHT enters our children's rooms!!
