Hello! I am due with my third little bouncing bundle of joy at the end of next month and my car isn't big enough!!!!

Argh!!

When this one is born I will have 3 under 3 1/2; so therefore I need a car that would accomodate three car seats with a 5-point harness (obviously mini-bubs would be in a rear-facing for first 9 months or so, but we have an autobase and need to plonk that somewhere too!)

What is the best car to buy in your opinion? We're thinking of eventually having 4 children so I'm thinking a 7 seater would be the best investment. We'd like 7 seats and good boot space preferably.....

Let me know .....

I have a renault scenic & have had 3 car seats in the rear of this (my 2.5yo, 17mo & their friend) but I too am expecting in August & was going to start investigating 7 seaters. I know the scenic now comes ion a 7 seater version but have seen the adverts for the citroan picasso which looks ok. Love the look of the chrysler voyager but it's safety rating is very poor.
Would be interested in anyone elses views also

So give us your views.....

Have heard the Vauxhall Zafria is very good - lots of space and seats - Opinions??

Too close There's 15 months between DD's 1&2 and 22 months (if arrives in august as planned) between pg & DD2 (if my maths are correct - brain gave up after DD2). Will have a 3.1yo, 20mo & newborn - I must be mad

CaptainDippy · 15/03/2007 20:09

Not mad at all - I have 14 1/2m between DD's 1&2 and they'll be 23m between DD2 and newborn - so I'll have 3.2yrs, 23m and newborn - VERY similar to you - Soooooo lovely to meet you - glad to know there's someone as nuts as me out there!! We should stay in touch - swap tips etc .... ??

I have an old renault scenic and fits all my car seats in the back I have a 3.4yr old,14mth old an 2mth old.

I bought a Range Rover, which drinks and pollutes about the same as a Galaxy or Touran btw, and we fitted 3 5pt harness seats in the back. We also have a Great Dane and have to tow horses & pick-up sacks of animal feed so we needed a vast boot.

I'm changing to a diesel Discovery, partly because I can run it on vegetable oil and partly because if we have another baby I'll need more seats!

My DCs age gaps are 18mths & 15mths btw - more 3 under 3s!

CaptainDippy · 15/03/2007 22:43

Mmmmm, thinking I would like something that has the capacity for 4 car seats though - just cos DH and ain't ifnished yet, iykwim!!? Thank you for tips though - don't think a Range rover would be a good idea for me though - I am only 5" - can't imagine I's be able to reach the pedals.

Good to know other nutters like stevie and I!!!

Everyone kept telling me I'm mad, now I can say there are a few of us
Captain Dippy / Norksbride- where are you in the country? It would be great if we were all local (which I doubt), would make for a mad kiddy meet-up!
