I'm looking for recommendations of toys/books etc to occupy my 2 year old DS once the new baby arrives (esp while breastfeeding)

Any suggestions?

A baby doll, maybe with pushchair and feeding accoutrements, is good. Don't by an expensive one, Asda or similar do them for about £5. He can copy mummy and would love that.

Duplo is good if he enjoys building. My DD loved a fuzzy felt set of dressing up a boy and a girl at that age. Or colouring books or just paper and crayons is always good in our house. Brio train track (don't buy Brio, buy Sainsbury's or ELC version) is great as well, ignorethe "over 3" advice on it, it's fine for a 2yo.

My two sons (now 4 and 2) both absolutely love the wooden train tracks (also available from Asda and Ikea). You could just buy a small kit to begin with, and if he likes it the possibilities are almost endless. Once you've set up a little track for him you can just let him get on with it.

Barely an hour goes by in our house without the cry going up 'let's make a track!'

I'd recommend Baby Born as it's quiet and goes in the bath and I think they have just introduced a male version. Probably best to let him 'practise' with it before the baby comes.

Get some cheap stickers of ebay and lots of paper, they'll be sticking for ages.

New story books that you can read while feeding.

Baby doll is great idea.

You could also get dolls car seat or changing bag with dolls clothes.

Toy cars and garage.
