Adaptor for the ELC CD player ???

My ddad has bought dd1 the ELC cd player for her birthday. Now I need an adaptor. It states it should be a 9v 700mA transformer ?????
Do you have an adaptor that works? I am not paying the £12.50 plus postage for the ELC one, but, although I can find lots of 9v adaptors on line, none appear to be 700mA. What does this mean?? I don't want to blow the whole player by getting the wrong one.

Go and ask in your local electrical shop. We got one for around £7.50, IIRC.

Hi, yes I did get one but had to panic buy as despite going to out local shop, Boots, Woolworths, Comet, Curry's, Maplin etc etc I could not find one cheaper than £15 . I think ebay have some but by then I could not wait for the postal times and decided it was cheaper to just get adaptor and not have to buy batteries.....so the answer is to get one from ELC and just use their 20% off code! BABYLAMBS gets 20% off at the moment too.

The adaptor I got can be used for our keyboard too as it has a variable voltage thing so that is something I suppose!
I asked about the 700mA and it appears to mean that anything above 700mA will work ie ours is 1000mA. HTH
