Mclaren volo or Silver Cross micro?

I want to get a really good lightweight second stroller and can't decide between these two. Part of the problem is that I have to get them online so can't test drive.

Opinions welcome.

Thanks!

How old is your dc? I didn't start using my Volo until ds was quite big (about 20 months I think) as the sitting position wasn't great when he was small, he tended to slump. It doesn't recline either so he couldn't sleep in it. Because it's so lightweight it falls over quite easily if you hang heavy bags from the handles, even with ds in it (he's about 13kg).

On the other hand it is very lightweight and I'm still using it regularly to take ds to nursery (he's 2.9yrs). At nursery all the buggies get piled on top of each other and it seems to stand up to lots of rough treatment. I can genuinely fold it with one hand and I can take reasonably long strides with it.

We got the Volo for DD. Started using it for holidays and when travelling from her being about 16 months. It is very light. It lasted too, hard wearing. The mesh seat was ideal for travelling too - dried easy if it got wet and if sunny didn't make DD sweat too much. DD never had any problems sleeping in it even though it doesn't relcine.

Sounds like I should hold off until he's older for the volo then. I thought it would be good for this summer but maybe not with the slumping as ds2 will only be 6 months old.

I didn't think Silver Cross were making the Micro any more - the Pop is their current umbrella folder.
If he's only 6mo I'd get a Triumph.

volo is fab but would wait until he is older. D/k about the other one. I think you need one that reclines at that age.

Tiggerish · 12/03/2007 18:58

We have a volo too and it still looks as good as new after 2 dc's. Would agree that your ds might be a bit little for it atm.

We have a buggy fleece in ours to make it really snug but it won't fold up properly with anything in it.

I wonder if it's a US/UK thing with Silver Cross? You see the micro available lots over here.

yeah, you might be right
it still doesn't recline at all though (which is my main reservation), so I'd suffer the extra 800g of weight and get a Triumph.

Oh, thanks! I didn't realize that.

Maclaren triumph. Basically same dimensions as Volo, not much heavier, and it reclines. Under £50 on Kiddicare. (At least it was when I last checked)>
