Recommendations for cheap, cheerful and small pushchair for very occasional use to fit in tiny car boot (very dull, sorry)

It is only going to be used once in a blue moon in dh's car or my parents' cars, all of which have tiny boots. We might take it on holiday too and for the odd day out to London so I want something that will be reasonably comfortable and won't fall apart on first use.
I don't care what it looks like (as long as it isn't pink).

one of htose super chepa opnes fom mothercare?

MuffinMclay · 11/03/2007 15:37

I vowed never to shop in Mothercare again because their customer service is so bad, but I guess they are the obvious place to go. Are the cheap ones all much of a muchness?
John Lewis do one of their own for £35 (no idea how to do links ) - has anyone had one of those?

cheapest mcclaren (I know more expensive than own brand ones but worth it IMO)

I would not compromise on swivel wheels either (the super cheap ones have fixed wheels) it will drive you nuts all that lifting and turning.

MuffinMclay · 11/03/2007 15:54

Oh thanks for that. I'll check it out.

I'm used to a 3 wheeler, so this may be a bit of a shock to the system. It'll make a nice change to be able to fit through shop doors though.
