What to buy - inbetween carrycot and large cot ?

Ds likes to be snuggly in carrycot but at 7 months this is going a bit far as his head is nearly at the end.

He had to be swaddled for a long while and is now just tightly tucked in for us to get any sleep and a grobag just meant he woke every 2 hours.

Is there any product or anything I can use to make him feel more secure(and sleep!) in something other than his carrycot?

I guess a crib would be half way to a large cot but they cost a fortune - ebay? Freecycle? - and they're not great once he can sit up alone.
Or the big cot with a couple of rolled up towels under the sheet to make it feel smaller at the sides?
Ikea cots are smaller than many others, and with a bumper might feel cosy enough for him. Actually thinking about it, could he be finding the big cot draughty compared to the carrycot - would a bumper help?

Going to try the rolled up towel idea and you are right a cot bumper may make him feel more secure.

Good ideas.Thanks Mrs Badger

for ds we rolled up blankets and put them on one side. Had him in a growbag, and then lay him on his side, back to the rolled up blankets.

In a crib, until around a year...
