We bought a new american style ff in september, it wasnt cheap. On friday afternoon it just died-completely dead like it was unplugged.Had to throw stuff away but luckily have v small old fridge in laundry that have crammed stuff in. They were supposed to come and fix it under warranty on tuesday, DH took day off as they couldnt give us a time. Never came, this morning engineer phoned to say he was coming ("dont know why they said tuesday, I never do this area on tuesday"). Came and faffed about, left saying basically didnt have a clue, might be a transformer that he might be able to get hold of and might be back in next few days, might be a circuit board that would have to be shipped from south korea as no parts in UK. Dh told him it would be a good idea if he left before I came in from work!
Have just phoned the company (AGA rangemaster-uk company) after much whining and ranting on my part they have promised to arrange for "one of our own" engineers to come-no idea when.
Am just so cross, no one has said "sorry for the food you had to chuck away" or "sorry you took a day off and we didnt bother to come" or "yes I can see having 3 children and a fridge the size of a shoebox is a little limiting and we will do something about it" Do I legally have any rights here, should they have to sort it within a certain time?
Thanks for reading the rant

its a good job for them it's not high summer! i forgot to look for an address for consumer complaints - oneof the women's magazines does it - he's called kevin cotton and he's quite good. i shall have a look-see for you.
