Anyone know, is this a good car seat?
Need a new one for my 4 year old ds. And this one is only £29.99 at Argos right now.
But if it's rubbish I rather get a different one.

I have 3 of these for my DC. They are well recommended and a good seat.

I like Britax anyway....have the First class and Renaissance at the mo.
Thank you!

I've got 2 - I'm sure they are recommended by Which? I'm sure I bought them off the back of a thread on here - is it Amanda1 who is always well up on car seats?

NannyL · 06/03/2007 20:05

they score very highyl for safety in the which independant crash tests!

I use one for my 4 year old and i love it (and so does he!)

hillary · 06/03/2007 20:07

I'v just been to argos looking at these car seats too.

I bought the Graco Junior it seemed to be the same in every way as the Britax one and is fully adjustable too, my reluctant toddler loves it!

Cheap too! Not that safety has a price but every little helps

ChippyMinton · 06/03/2007 20:08

got one, they come recommended. Always choose Britax here.

NannyL · 06/03/2007 20:09

The graco junior does very poorly in the which independant crash tests.

so much so they state it does not offer enough protection in a crash and put in the not recommended car seat section

DeviousDaffodil · 06/03/2007 20:14

I have 2 when I was researhing them , they were the best on the market for safety, and cost much more than they do now!Go for it!

hillary · 06/03/2007 20:19

Blimey looks like both my car seats are a load of

Surely they cannot sell them if they are that bad!?

3andnomore · 06/03/2007 20:49

hillary, sadly price (they can be expensive and still crap) nor that they sell it isn't a sign of how good and or safe anything is (I mena, they are allowed to sell junkfood, and we all know that it isn't good for you, nor safe, lol)....

Thank you everyone...I thought I had heard that it was a good one, but there is so many and just wanted to make sure....am now pondering if I should get 2....but then...my ys is only 2 1/2 and I suppsoe another good offer will come along once he needs to change!

hillary.... i agree its outragouse that they can sell car seats that are unsafe and even dangerouse because they meet some "basic EU standard".... a standard so low that it lets seats that KILL children sitting in them pass

and then mothercare staff and such like tell you that they are all safe / as safe as each other cause they meet these basic criteria when clearly they are NOT.

that awful graco one has been known to be unsafe for years and yet its STILL for sale along with loads of others...

incidently the britax ones that they found to be unsafe are now marketed as fisher price grrrr

Hulababy · 06/03/2007 21:32

We have two Britax HiLiners for DD, as well as one other seat. Bought them as they did so well in the Which reports, and are a good price. I recently posted about the Argos offer and really recommend them.

dingdongjustforyoufg · 17/03/2007 16:33

I am also looking at the hi liner as we have twins and need seats for 2 cars but am (rather shallow I know) concerned about the colour of the Argos ones - anyone know what colour they come in?
